From 1 April 2025, businesses affected by UK REACH regulations must comply with the updated fees for registrations, authorisations and other processes related to chemical substances.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has revised the fees based on inflation and administrative costs.

Key changes include:

  • Registration fees: Increased for lower tonnage registrations (1-10 tonnes) but reduced for higher tonnage levels. SMEs receive adjusted fees based on business size.
  • Update fees: Fees for updating registrations have been adjusted, with fees for joint submissions increasing but fees for most other updates decreasing.
  • PPORD Notifications: Standard fees have increased, whereas fees for extensions have decreased.
  • Authorisation Fees: Standard application and review fees increased by approximately 22%, but SMEs benefit from tiered discounts (medium: 25%, small: 55%, micro: 90%).

The changes impact manufacturers, importers, and downstream users handling substances under UK REACH.

In Northern Ireland EU REACH continues to apply under the Windsor Framework.
